The series "full of drama, humor and fantasy," according to the review, tells the story of a couple that "leave the island fleeing the communist regime with the promise of a better future, but upon arriving in Miami they find another reality."

Under the direction of Tony Salup, the general production of Orlando Fundichely and the original idea of Javier Berridy, the team of this series will recreate many of the experiences that Cubans live when they arrive in Miami.

"`Welcome to la yuma´ is what has happened to everyone who has arrived in this country. `Welcome to la yuma´ is the dream of all of us who have emigrated in a series. All the beautiful things that can happen to you, all the crazy things that can happen to you, all the blunders that one makes when you arrive and then see that you have the opportunity to prosper in this country and prosper in Miami above all," said Ramoncitín Veloz in an interview.
