"Sabrosura" book by actor Ricardo Becerra compendium of delicious traditional Cuban recipes

Cuban actor Ricardo Becerra launched his new book for sale, Sabrosura, a collection of delicious traditional Cuban recipes.

Although the work is already on sale, it will be officially presented on May 20th, during the Cuba Nostalgia fair, which will take place in the city of Miami.

According to the book's own description, the book is "a journey through the authentic flavors of Cuban cuisine that were lost for more than 60 years," as Fidel Castro's dictatorship has kept the country in a food crisis for decades.

The actor and also writer promises a unique experience in the pages of his new work, which is not limited to experienced cooks, as it also includes simple recipes for those who wish to venture into the kitchen for the first time.

But Sabrosura does not offer just any cookbook, as each dish is accompanied by a story that narrates its origin and how it came to its author, as well as the role it has played in the lives of those who contributed it.

Also noteworthy is the role of grandparents and their recipes, a fundamental pillar of the Cuban family, and in general of Latin families, which makes it easy to engage with its text.

The family warmth, the engaging narrative about the recipes, as well as the detailed description of the ingredients and preparation of the same, make this an indispensable work in the bookshelf of any lover of Cuba or its cuisine.

Becerra's foray into writing with a book of this genre is not a surprise, as in recent times he has become one of the most beloved faces of Miami television, being the host of the weekly program Mi abuela cocina.

Ricardo Becerra is one of the main faces of Cuba's exile in Miami, with a strong stance of opposition against the Island's dictatorship.

He is mostly known for his starring role in the film Plantados, by Cuban filmmaker Lilo Vilaplana, winner of the Audience Award at the Miami Film Festival 2021, and one of the director's most acclaimed films.
