The production of a new humorous series for Cuban television is one of the most recent projects promoted by filmmaker Rolando Peña Lorenzo (Roly), a Cuban director of television programs, which is expected to premiere in the next summer season in Cuba.

In exclusive statements to the ACN, the well-known television director explained that it is a program lasting approximately 27 minutes, in which a situation comedy will be developed, where the characters have to live together in a determined context and face the various problems that arise in correspondence with their interests.

The protagonists of the series will be the members of the humorous group Etcétera, humor professionals who in their works combine theatrical art with humor, where they care for every detail in the dramaturgy of the characters and the staging.

Other Cuban humorists and actors will also participate, clarified the filmmaker, according to the script and their performance on stage, where there is no established stereotype in the selection process.

A chapter zero has already been produced, also known as a pilot, which facilitated the approval process of the series by Cuban Television and included the participation of guest artists such as Jorge Martínez, Rigoberto Ferrer, Carlo Gonzalvo and Jorge Díaz, he emphasized.

This pilot chapter was presented to the public for the first time at the end of 2020 at the Comandante Eddy Suñol theater, in the city of Holguín, as part of the celebrations for the 15th anniversary of the humorous group Etcétera, witness to its emergence and professional development, where it was possible to measure the acceptance of this material, whose premiere is scheduled for the summer of this year.

To date, a name has not been defined, he specified, and for now we identify it as Etcétera Etcétera, due to the humorous group that stars in the program, but it has been conceptualized to carry out two seasons of approximately 12 or 13 chapters each, including the one that will be staged in the winter.

Roly Peña is a television program director known for spaces such as the youth series Enigma para un verano and Coco verde, and his most recent production, LCB: La otra guerra 2, who believes that the approval of the new humorous proposal by Cuban Television represents a way to offer diverse options to the audience, according to their tastes in the field of humor.
