For Sancti Spíritus he is an illustrious son, for the ICRT a source of pride and for teleSUR, one of the stellar conductors. And it is that Reinaldo Gómez (Rey) needs no introduction other than his charisma and refined gentleman bearing. This May marks 10 years since his arrival at the Latin American television channel.
He was a Spanish-literature teacher at what was then the Instituto Preuniversitario en el Campo (IPUEC) "Honorato del Castillo Cancio" (today converted into an Instituto Preuniversitario Urbano -IPU-), his students do not forget his passion and dedication to teaching.
They also do not forget his vast culture and that very entertaining way of teaching agreement between subject, verb, and predicate; while he narrated the famous canto 22 of Homer's Iliad. It was like spying, across time, at Achilles himself in fierce combat against Hector.
He later committed himself to social communication, voice-over work, journalism and the learning of foreign languages, although he confesses, "I'm not sure if that's the correct order". Perhaps it doesn't matter, because he is already a universal man whose simplicity and professionalism amazes everyone.
