With the name Montuneros de Cuba, the traditional music group that accompanied Pío Leyva in his artistic career resurfaced in the municipality of Morón in Avila.
This renewed ensemble is made up, among others, by founders of the original: Gilberto Soto and William Ferrín who toured Cuban stages and other parts of the world with Pío such as Holland and Mexico.
New members are joining as continuators of the sounds that characterized the group in its foundational years, a way to maintain the country's musical traditions.
The performance of the Montuneros de Cuba reaches the hotel facilities of Jardines del Rey and they have joined the activities of the current summer season in the municipalities of the territory.
In the biography of Pío Leyva, his compositions of Cuban rhythms stand out such as the guaracha, the son and the chachachá and his discography includes around twenty albums.

Likewise, he was part of Compay Segundo and his boys and with them he performed in emblematic places such as the Olympia in Paris.
