The ashes of the prominent Cuban actor Salvador Wood will be displayed on Tuesday, June 4, in the Avellaneda room of the Teatro Nacional de Cuba, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The space will be dedicated to paying tribute to the artist, who passed away last Saturday at the age of 90.
Hero of Labor of the Republic and National Prize of Cuban Television for a Lifetime of Work, Salvador Wood was a versatile actor who worked in all media—radio, film, theater, and television—where he contributed the knowledge of a career full of rich experiences.
Born in Santiago de Cuba on November 24, 1928, Salvador Wood will continue to be admired and remembered for his magnificent appearances in films such as La muerte de un burócrata and El brigadista, as well as for his revolutionary activism through culture.
His colleagues, friends, and family members will gather in the Avellaneda room to honor this beloved and popular actor, a fundamental figure in Cuban performing arts.
