The National Symphony Orchestra announces its next presentation with a classic concert for next Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Covarrubias Hall of the National Theater of Cuba that includes, in its program, as its main attraction, the return to the Cuban stage of the renowned pianist and pedagogue Víctor Rodríguez with the Schumann piano concerto which constitutes possibly the masterwork in his author's catalog.

The basic theme of its development and the passion that inspires it is the feeling of two people in love, their yearning for happiness and joy. Considered a score of special difficulty for the pianist, its musicality, style and interpretive sensitivity are more important than technical brilliance. The personal orchestration that its author used contributes to the intimate scope of the score, supporting with precision the performance of the soloist.

In the second part you will be able to hear Schubert's Symphony No. 5, a work also known as "the symphony without trumpets or percussion" for the modest resources used by its author in the orchestration that include, in addition to the strings, a single flute, a pair of oboes, bassoons and horns, all under the direction of maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa.

Program:

Robert Schumann (1810–1856)

Concerto for piano and orchestra, in A minor, Op. 54

Franz Schubert (1797–1828)

Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major, D.485

Conductor: Maestro Enrique Pérez Mesa
