The voice of a great returns on her 95th birthday: CD Elena Burke Vintage is now available

That Cuba is a country of immense musical tradition is a fact that no one would be able to deny, given the dozens of voices that the small Caribbean island has produced, such as that of the stellar Elena Burke, whose songs were recently compiled by the record label Bis Music in a CD that can now be heard.

"Elena Burke Vintage" is the name of the production, a tribute to the Cuban interpreter known as "Lady Feeling," who passed away in 2002.

The album's premiere takes place 95 years after her birth and was created by Juan Manuel Ceruto together with Esteban Puebla, working with Daelsis Pena on recording, mixing, and mastering.

According to Cuban specialized media, this album is a compilation of 12 songs and a bonus track, extracted from radio broadcasts between the years 1962 and 1968 by Esteban Puebla, a recognized orchestrator, keyboardist, composer, and pianist.

The compilation is available on the Sandunga platform and includes the songs You Know How to Understand Me, A Different Forgetting, Alone with You, You Accustomed Me, From My Memories, among others.

Burke impressed the Cuban music scene with her versatility and her very personal way of interpreting the songs she lent her voice to, to the point of being engraved in the memory of many Cubans who heard her.

In the late 1940s she ventured into the artistic world in the radio program The Supreme Court of Art, where she showed her impressive vocal range and talent, until forming the group Las Mulatas de Fuego.

In the 1950s of the last century she shared the stage with the also great Moraima Secada, Omara Portuondo, and Haydée Portuondo, in the Cuarteto D' Aida and the legend only grew and became an inseparable part of Cuban music of the moment.

The emotiveness and intimate character of each performance gave her the nickname "Lady Feeling," by which she would be recognized in life and remembered even 21 years after her death.

Elena became the leading voice of the Feeling genre in Cuba and an acclaimed artist in all the countries where she performed. Cuban song had in her an ambassador of mastery and talent.
