Dancer Catherine Zuaznábar, trained in the Cuban school of ballet and with a prominent career in Maurice Bejart's company, will reappear on the Cuban stage during the Alicia Alonso International Ballet Festival of Havana
It is a joy to be back in Cuba, where my roots are, although 25 years ago I decided to expand my branches, to discover what my body could do, beyond the classical, the artist expressed.
She will be the protagonist of the work Sacre, a choreography by Sandra Ramy inspired by the original by Nijinsky based on Stravinsky's score The Rite of Spring, in which she reduces the dance company to a soloist, now —for the first time— a woman.
Catherine Zuaznábar will perform Sacre on October 29 and 30 and November 5 at the National Theater, and on November 2 and 3 at the Sauto in Matanzas.
