The same day Cuba marks the record of more than 300 new COVID-19 cases announced in a single day, the Ministry of Public Health announces the return of daily press conferences to inform the people about the epidemiological situation. With the objective of expanding information to the Cuban population about the country's epidemiological situation due to COVID-19, press conferences resume starting this Tuesday, January 5, at 9 in the morning, with official spokesperson Dr. Francisco Durán García, national director of Epidemiology.
The return to Cuba's national television of the press conferences led by Doctor Francisco Durán, National Director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health, was announced this Monday through the health agency's social media networks.
On January 4, Cuba experienced the highest peak of positive cases reported in a single day. At the close of January 3, there are 3,433 patients admitted for epidemiological clinical surveillance, 659 suspected, 1,036 under surveillance, and 1,738 confirmed.
For COVID-19, 10,024 samples were studied, resulting in 316 positive samples. The country has accumulated 1,523,288 samples performed and 12,740 positive (0.84%).
