Carlos Alberto Cremata Receives Honorary Doctor Title from ISA

Carlos Alberto (Tin) Cremata Malberti, a distinguished educator and general director of the children's theater company La Colmenita, received today the honorary doctor title from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA).

José Ernesto Nováez, rector of the higher education center, presented the recognition for the work and legacy of the honoree.

When speaking, Cremata Malberti expressed his gratitude to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, whom he described as a second father.

The artist believed that the achievements of his work are largely the result of the Cuban people intertwined with the humanitarian work of his Revolution.

In referring to Tin, Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez Domínguez praised his ability to forge virtuous spirits and high moral values in children. The renowned singer-songwriter highlighted that his creation is a genuine expression of a vocation of generosity and service to others.

In him there exists a kind of child dressed as an adult, thank you for your light, Rodríguez concluded.

The activity was attended by vice ministers of culture, Kenelma Carvajal and Fernando Rojas; Francisco González, president of the Association of Performing Arts of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, and other intellectuals and personalities.

Carlos Alberto Cremata Malberti holds a degree in Pedagogical Sciences in the specialty of Artistic Direction and Theater Direction.

On February 14, 1990, he founded the children's theater company La Colmenita, which has branches in other countries around the world and was declared a goodwill ambassador of the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef).

The group has among its foundational principles the linking of theatrical performance on stages with community work in the most diverse and remote places in the country.

In this way, the conception of its cultural proposals pursues the creation of spaces for the active participation of children and adolescents in society.
