Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez released today on digital platforms the song Noche sin fin y mar, the second preview of his album Para la espera, available on June 12. Dedicated to the recently deceased Spanish singer-songwriter Luis Eduardo Aute, the song, already known by the performer's followers, has accumulated thousands of reproductions on Youtube hours after its release.

Para la espera will include 13 songs, among them 10 unreleased compositions written in recent years by the artist. Rodríguez, who had not released material since 2015 when he circulated the album Amoríos, will also share prior to the launch the songs Viene la cosa and Danzón para la espera.

According to the troubadour, the CD will be dedicated to the memory of several recently deceased friends, including filmmakers Juan Padrón and Tupac Pinilla, singer-songwriters Aute and Oscar Chávez, writer Luis Sepúlveda and humorist Marcos Mundstock. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Ojalá studios between 2010 and 2020 and will be available on major digital platforms. With more than twenty albums in four decades of artistic career, Rodríguez is currently one of the most recognized musicians inside and outside Cuba.

In 2011 the 73-year-old musician undertook the project Gira por los barrios or Gira interminable, as the troubadour called it, with the intention of bringing his work closer to the culturally less favored places in Havana.
