The renowned Cuban pianist and composer Roberto Fonseca will officially present his new album Yesun next Saturday, in a concert at Fábrica de Arte Cubano (FAC), it was reported this Wednesday in Havana.

As the artist explained at a press conference at the Jazz Café de Galerías de Paseo, this is the first phonographic production of his authorship presented in Havana, since until now all of his discography has been released abroad.

According to announcements, Yesun, Fonseca's ninth album, will be available on the market and digital platforms starting October 18, although the single Aggua and its corresponding music video are already accessible to the public.

They also highlighted that the material is composed of 12 tracks, in trio format, in which jazz and classical music are combined, in addition to rap, funk, reggaeton and electronic music, in a kind of rebellion against traditional musical schemes.

Raúl Herrera, one of the trio members who plays drums, said that working with Roberto Fonseca was a spiritual and intellectual experience, as the objective was to achieve high-quality sound results with three people.

Yesun is the successor to ABUC (2016), and the title, according to Fonseca, is due to a play on words that merges the names of the saints Yemayá and Oshún in one, as he claims to have a strong connection with the spiritual.

It is a special CD, he commented, because it was made without any justification other than sharing his experience and way of composing, and also because it is the first time he sings in one of his phonographic productions.

During the presentation on October 5 at the FAC, Fonseca will receive the Official decoration of the Arts and Letters, presented by the Ministry of Culture of France.
