The book Musicalísima Beatriz Márquez, a Journey Through Memories, by Jaime Masó Torres, published by Ediciones Cubanas Artex, will be presented on Thursday, September 7, at three in the afternoon, at the Librería Fayad Jamís, at Obispo 261 between Cuba and Aguiar, in Havana's Historic Center.

At this event, the well-known singer, awarded the 2015 National Music Prize, and the book's author will dialogue with journalist and critic Fernando Rodríguez Sosa about this work that offers a perspective on the artistic trajectory of one of the most relevant voices in Cuban song between centuries.

Structured in six sections, enriched with a collection of photographs, this work —according to Jaime Masó Torres's words— "is not a biography, nor does it intend to be (…) (they are) 'notes' (…), pretexts to enjoy all the talent of an artist who at the beginning of her career lost her name to be, spontaneously and with dignity, La Musicalísima".

In presenting the volume, writer and editor Dulce María Sotolongo Carrington states that the "young journalist, lover of our artistic heritage, Jaime Masó Torres (…) proposes to us a journey through memory, I would say much more: to know 'spontaneously' this wonderful woman…".

Licensed in Journalism by the University of La Habana in 2014, Jaime Masó Torres, who was born in Bayamo in 1989, is linked to radio and television programs and collaborates with periodicals and digital publications.

Before Musicalísima Beatriz Márquez, a Journey Through Memories, Masó Torres had published, in 2020, the book La memoria está ahí, in which he gathers interviews conducted with, among others, Cuban actors, radio announcers, singers, journalists, and filmmakers.
