The Cuban Recording and Musical Editions Company (Egrem) presented the phonogram Pasándola bien, the most recent production by pianist, composer and arranger César "Pupy" Pedroso and his orchestra Los que Son Son.
The album arrives on the market three years after Sin límite, the artist's previous release, also produced by the Egrem label.
Pasándola bien is a new proposal of popular Cuban danceable music, as always conceived for the dancer, the obligatory recipient of the genre, Pupy affirms in the liner notes.
The album takes a 15-song journey through the current trends of the genre, guided by one of the most followed groups in the broad sound spectrum of the Greater Antilles.
Highlighted in the production are the variety of songwriters, which broadens the thematic vision of the album; the orchestral arrangements and vocal work, enriched by the incorporation into the orchestra of singer Alcibíades Durruthy, a talent that emerged from the television show Sonando en Cuba.
For lovers of classics, maestro "Pupy" Pedroso offers a piano interpretation of Capullito de alelí, an anthological piece of Caribbean popular music composed by the Puerto Rican Rafael Hernández.
In Capullito… the pianos of Manolito Simonet, Lázaro Valdés (hijo), Alejandro Falcón and Pupy Pedroso come together, who collectively deliver a performance of the highest interpretive level. Pasándola bien has just begun its journey, although the credentials of Pupy and Los que Son Son guarantee the success of this highly anticipated recording.
