They Present "Como cualquiera", Posthumous Album by Lourdes Torres

"Como cualquiera" is the title of the posthumous album by Cuban singer Lourdes Torres that was released on June 20th in Havana.

Produced by the recording company EGREM, this material brings together for the first time some of the songs that the renowned artist made famous through her interpretations.

According to Yunier Díaz, artistic executor of the singer, "the album has 17 tracks, 16 authored by Lourdes and a bonus track by her friend and excellent composer Silvia González Guerra".

Díaz added that "the majority of the tracks were songs well-known by Lourdes" and that among this selection that makes up the album "there are some that were sung so little that they are almost a premiere on the record".

Regarding the production, he explained that "a compilation was made of what could be saved the most, because there was a lot of music recorded many years ago that could not be left with the quality that it requires".

Finally, Díaz concluded that he is "completely convinced that people will enjoy it very much".

The album launch took place at the Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura in Havana, accompanied by live music from several performers.

"In addition to the sale of the album, a concert was held where some performers sang Lourdes's songs and the direction of the event was in charge of the National Humor Prize winner, Mario Aguirre, who was the one who wrote the notes for this material", Díaz added.

Lourdes Torres became, after many years of career, one of the most celebrated female voices in Cuba. At 77 years old, she passed away in Havana after a long illness.

Torres decided to leave her musical heritage to Yunier Díaz, who was her caregiver and friend, something that was not well received by some of the artist's family members.
