The young Cuban singer Ivette Letusé, winner in 2010 of the 'Premio Ojalá', sponsored by the renowned singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez, presented this Tuesday her most recent album titled "Deseos" and produced with the Unicornio Label of Producciones Abdala.

The material, recorded in collaboration with the Centro Nacional de Música Popular (CNMP), includes nine tracks and a bonus track, and features the production and musical direction by Letusé herself, who explained at the event that she took on that responsibility due to not having the budget and the need to begin recording soon.

It is a record of great sacrifice that took a long time to record, since due to several difficulties we had to stop the work, said the author, who became emotional when referring to the death of her mother during that time, to whom she dedicated the album.

Israel Rojas, director of the group Buena Fe, Reyna (from the hip hop duo La Reyna y la Real), and pianist Rolando Luna, are some of the guests, who approached the song genre in which Letusé stands out.

In the liner notes, journalist Pedro de la Hoz noted that as a composer, the young woman handles with intelligence and propriety the melodic tensions and their rhythmic supports, so that in each song a coherent flow is perceived.

Careful poetry, not at all excessive, nestles in texts that resemble both her time and the artist's personality, added de la Hoz.

Lucía Ormaza Martínez, subdirector of programming at the CNMP, commented that Ivette Letusé is part of the institution's catalog, and that they have few singers in it who have achieved her level of accomplishments.

On February 22, in the Teatro sala of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, at five in the afternoon, the concert will take place where the official launch of this new production will be held and a DVD will be recorded on the occasion.

The creation of her first album, Sinfonía urbana, came with the Premio Ojalá and was nominated for Cubadisco 2013.

Ivette Letusé is a graduate of the Conservatorio Amadeo Roldán in the specialty of Choral Direction.
