Cuba's Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, congratulated on Tuesday doctor Alfredo Espinosa Brito, for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Award for Management and Leadership in Health Services, in 2023.
"Let him receive, from the Ministry of Public Health, all our gratitude for the humility, professionalism and commitment with which he has worked for more than five decades in the field of medicine, being deserving of the affection and respect of his colleagues and our people," stated the Cuban official on Facebook.
Portal Miranda received the distinction on behalf of doctor Espinosa Brito, who was unable to attend the event due to health reasons.
The recognition was presented in the context of the 60th session of the PAHO Governing Council, which began the previous day in Washington, United States, and will conclude this Friday the 29th.
