Pedro Antonio Valdés Sosa from Cuba works at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) headquartered in Chengdu. As a professor of neuroinformatics and neuroscience, he and his colleagues use computer and telecommunications technology to study how the brain works and try to develop related technologies and instruments to help detect brain diseases as early as possible.
According to Sosa, brain health for everyone must be achieved through a combination of efforts, and China has demonstrated its willingness to help other countries. "One of the few countries in the world that has truly made it a principle to benefit people is China," he said. He hopes that the achievements of his and his colleagues' research can be used in primary health care and in less developed places, and be distributed to benefit the vast majority of the world.
