The Cuban triple jumper Pedro Pablo Pichardo made a splendid fourth jump that allowed him to take the gold medal at the final stop of the Brussels Diamond League. This victory consolidated him in first place in the final standings of the league that IAAF convenes annually.
Naturalized Portuguese and holder of the 5th best mark in the history of the triple jump (18.08), he surpassed American Christian Taylor, who was not at his best that night (17.31) and also American Donald Scott (17.25).
