Cuban singer Haila Maria Mompié once again returns to international collaborations, this time alongside a stellar cast made up of Mimy Succar, La India and the versatile Tony Succar. With the suggestive title Sin Fronteras, this song is included in Mimy Succar's most recent recording production, a Peruvian singer of Japanese descent with more than 30 years of musical career, who is the mother of the renowned percussionist and music producer Tony Succar, who is one of the youngest and most talented exponents of salsa worldwide and also, a deep connoisseur of our popular music.
The song was worked on intensely for several months, according to statements from Haila. "Everything was being prepared for a long time, and we worked hard looking for appropriate lyrics for the theme," the renowned singer told us. For his part, Aned Mota, also a musician and currently Haila's manager and producer, emphasized the inclusive nature of the song and Mompie's presence in the theme. We collaborated with Tony Succar's team there and ours here, made up of Carlos Cartaya, Issac Delgado, Iván the son of Teresa and me, that's why the mischievousness and Cuban flavor in the final choruses of the song.
Regarding the recording and video shoot, last week we traveled to Peru to launch the theme on all digital platforms and to film the clip, premiered on Thursday, and which was filmed in the emblematic Callao neighborhood. The theme also includes, in addition to the aforementioned Mimy Succar, one of the great female voices of salsa: the Puerto Rican La India, known for her extensive career and an extraordinary voice, also remembered throughout Latin America for her duet with Marc Anthony in the song Vivir lo nuestro, included in the RMM album La Combinación Perfecta from 1993, which would undoubtedly be her leap to international fame.
Within the promotional work of this album and of the theme launched yesterday, it is worth highlighting the concert offered a few days ago in Lima by La India to which Mimy Succar and Haila were invited, with great public reception and where Celia Cruz was also remembered, a singer to whom Haila dedicated her recording production from the year 2001 and which she titled Haila (Bis Music) with musical direction by Issac Delgado.
Sin Fronteras is a song by Colombian Diego Giraldo along with Tony Succar, and had the production and arrangements by the latter in addition to the renowned Marc Quiñones, another legend of Latin music and who also participated in the tumbadoras and minor percussion. This catchy song, with the union of the extraordinary Mimy Succar, La India and Haila, with more than 30 thousand plays just one day after its release on digital platforms.
The presence of the famous Cuban singer in this international collaboration alongside these Latin music stars is the result of her strength as an artist, her deep Cuban roots and her respect for our popular danceable music. It is also the realization of a career focused on exposing the quality of our culture of which she is an unmatched ambassador. For his part Tony Succar, who has visited Havana and maintains close relationships of friendship and work with many Cuban musicians, is very satisfied with the sonic result of the theme. Personally I consider it very important to emphasize the music production work around the singers, which achieved excellent empathy and a visible candor that is surprising for the explosiveness and stylistic diversity of each one, a result that can be appreciated in the premiered video clip and which is already being promoted by several radio stations and television networks of the continent.
Its producers also hope that the theme will be a song of union and love and that the Latin woman will continue to be an inspiration for future collaborations between artists of various nationalities.
