Two great representatives of Cuban music accompanied by Mexican singer-songwriter Alejandro Filio and the group Yahal Kab captivated the Yucatecan audience with the concert "Sister Trovas, Cuba and Yucatán".

A great evening was experienced last Sunday with the concert "Sister Trovas, Cuba and Yucatán", which closed with a grand finale the "Festival of Peace" within the framework of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Winners, with the presence of Cubans Amaury Pérez and Pancho Amat.

Undoubtedly it was a masterful event in which Cuban and Yucatecan music displayed rhythm, song and joy that made Mérida vibrate to the rhythm of Cuban son with the performances of two great Cuban artists.

The Yahal Kab group accompanied the legendary tres player from Havana, Pancho Amat, whom he presented as the best tres player in Cuba, and who with great mastery and professionalism performed songs by Yucatecan composers such as: "Pensamiento", "Tú, mi única pasión" and "Quisiera ser golondrina".

The Cuban tres is that instrument that represents the essence of Cuban son and thus demonstrated "The greatest tres player in Cuba" when to the rhythm of "Llegó el tresero", a theme that gives its name to the musician's most recent work, the master gave a display of that great Caribbean rhythm that Cubans possess.

"I had come to Mexico many times, but I had not had the opportunity to know Mérida; Mérida is like my country, it is an extension of the Caribbean, that music that unites us", expressed the master.

As expected, the Yucatecans could not hide their emotion and despite the rain that was falling, they remained in their seats enjoying the incomparable performance of master Leonel Francisco Amat to the rhythm of the tres present on Paseo de Montejo, the most important and beautiful avenue of the southern city that with its Parisian air from the past century conquers national and foreign tourists.

To end the great evening, the Cuban Amaury Pérez born in Havana, could not fail to show that enormous charisma that he possesses and that characterizes him so much, the reason why he is one of the Cuban popular music artists who has achieved great popularity.

Alone with his guitar he delighted the attending audience with a medley with the songs "Con 2 que se quieren", "Te amaré", "Yolanda", "Te perdono" and "Cuando no estás con él".

Amidst laughter, conversations and anecdotes full of memories, master Pérez captivated the Yucatecan audience, who recalled that his love for music was born when in the 60s for the first time, he heard the songs from Armando Manzanero's first album, and whom he now considers a friend, so for the Cuban Yucatecan evening, he did not hesitate to perform "Esta tarde vi llover".

After concluding his performance and saying goodbye, Amaury Pérez could not leave without hearing as is tradition in Mexican lands, the voices of the audience in chorus saying: "otra, otra…" so without hesitation he called the Mexican singer-songwriter, poet and musician Alejandro Filio to together sing and bid farewell to the Yucatecan, Cuban and contemporary trova with "Otro domingo sin sol".

Let us hope to soon see again in Yucatecan lands these two great interpreters of Caribbean music, who with their voice, rhythm and joy become great ambassadors of Cuban music, sister trova of Yucatán.
