National Television Awards 2019 Granted

For his/her excellent merits as actors and actresses of our audiovisual media, they received on October 24th the National Television Prize Miriam Mier Vidal, Odalys Fuentes de Arma, Luis Rielo Morejón, Mario Balmaseda Maurisco, Frank González Díaz and Félix Pérez Ortiz.

During the award ceremony, held the evening before at the José Martí Memorial, Alfonso Noya, President of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (Icrt), also presented to Waldo Ramírez, General Director of Cuban TV, a recognition that distinguishes the work developed over 69 years by several generations of people linked to that media outlet.

Likewise, the Small Screen Prize was awarded to personalities with a distinguished trajectory and significant contributions to television, such as Olga Lucía Lago Muela (actress), Reynaldo Montesino Muñoz (Director of the Icrt Orchestra), Armando Zurbarán Mendoza (musician of the Icrt Orchestra), Mario Riera Arana (cameraman), Pedro Anido Palenzuela (cameraman and lighting designer), Mario Adolfo Morales Ayala (Director of Photography), Ismael Díaz Quevedo (sound technician), Edith Margarita Massola Mederos (Actress, presenter and TV Director), Liagne Reina Pérez (Director of the Icrt Choir), Julio Delgado Lago (engineer), Aimé Amargo Gorrita (TV Camagüey journalist), Ana Valdez Portillo (founding reporter of TV Yurumí), and Belkis Pérez Cruz (Telepinar journalist).

Also at the ceremony, the Call for Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of Cuban Television was commemorated, by virtue of which various activities will take place until October 2020. Said document emphasizes "the commitment to continue working for a better television at the service of the people and our socialism".

Present at the ceremony were some directors of Television, Radio and Icrt, Nereida López Labrada, General Secretary of the Union of Culture Workers, as well as recipients of the National TV Prize in previous years, among other guests and family members of those honored on October 24th, 2019.
