The jury of the National Community Culture Prize in its twentieth edition, meeting this morning in Havana, has unanimously decided to award the 2024 prize to theater director and pedagogue Carlos Alberto "Tin" Cremata Malberti, for his contributions to community sociocultural work and his extraordinary social impact.

A graduate with a degree in Pedagogical Sciences in the specialty of Artistic Direction and Theater Direction, he directed the theater group La Colmena, in which he developed meritorious work with the MININT, the FAR and the CTC throughout the country. Upon subsequently directing a group made up of girls and boys, the idea arose to name it "La Colmenita," as a result of significant educational work through theater, to promote Martí's thought, value formation and Cuban traditions.

"Tin" Cremata has obtained numerous recognitions in Cuba and abroad. With over 30 years of work, he has expanded his pedagogical and artistic project in Cuba and the world.

The National Community Culture Prize is the highest award granted by the National Council of Houses of Culture. It is awarded every two years to individuals who stand out in the development of community culture, as well as to outstanding institutions, projects and groups.
