The Cuban naturalized Italian, Osmany Juantorena, added a new title to his sports career after he led his team, Ziraat Bankart, to victory in the Turkish men's volleyball championship in the 5th game of the final.

"Last night this long and intense season ended for me with the championship victory. I would like to dedicate this to my family who have always supported me despite the distance, giving me so much strength, to my true friends who have been there when things were not going well. Thank you very much with all my heart," Juantorena commented on his social networks as a way of celebrating, also dedicating some words to his detractors. "Ah, to all those envious and fake people who waste their time talking, I didn't know I was so important, thank you also, you always keep me at the top."

The legend of world volleyball managed to score 18 points, 15 of attacks for 58%, 2 serves and 1 block. His performance was in doubt after suffering a hand injury in the 4th game, which did not prevent him from being the second leading scorer for his team, only behind the 19 of Wouter Ter Maat.

The match was played against Halkbank, who could not face the power of Ziraat and had to settle for the runner-up position, despite being at home and having the contribution of Abdel Azis and Jaeschke, who scored 22 points each.

Juantorena arrived from the Chinese Super League just 3 months ago, in the middle of the season, after obtaining the silver medal in the Asian tournament. This season, the Cuban finally left Italy, where he spent most of his career, both at Trentino and Lube, two of the historic clubs in that country.

At 37 years old, already retired from the Azzurri national team, Juantorena continues adding titles to his long sports career, full of stardom and historic performances in every club and domestic tournament he participated in, future hall of fame of world volleyball.
