Oscar Pino Unbeaten in Zagreb in Greco-Roman Wrestling

Cuban wrestler Oscar Pino conquered the gold medal in the 130 kg Greco-Roman style at the Zagreb Open Tournament, one of the events of the World Ranking Series. In this competition, the three-time world medalist allowed only one point against him in his four matches.

Owner of absolute dominance on the mat, the Caribbean wrestler defeated Norwegian Oskar Marvik in the final, a 2021 world bronze medalist and champion in the Croatian capital's event four campaigns ago. Now Pino assured success from the very first period, with seven points in his favor that gave him the necessary peace of mind to dominate the rest of the challenge.

Thus, in the second half of the match he only maintained the lead and barely received a point against him, the only one his opponents managed to score in the tournament.

Before that, the native had a streak of three consecutive victories by technical superiority. First, in the round of 16 with victory by superiority against Uzbek Temurbek Nasimov, 2022 world bronze medalist in the under-20 competition.

Then he repeated the dose against Olympic Finn Matti Elias Kuosmanen and in the semifinals he defeated Iranian Amir Mohammadali Ghasemimonjezi with an identical score of 8-0, a 2019 world fifth-place finisher.
