The legendary Cuban singer Omara Portuondo adds another successful collaboration today by being invited by Mexican singer, composer, and music producer Natalia Lafourcade to share the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall in the United States.
With great joy I share with you that my beloved Omara Portuondo will accompany me at Carnegie Hall to sing beautifully, as only she knows how to do. I am super excited and deeply grateful that she accepted. It won't be long before we see each other. It will be beautiful!, Lafourcade announced on her social media.
Portuondo, holder of a considerable musical trajectory, thanked the notable vocalist through her digital platforms and confirmed feeling honored to participate in the performance scheduled for October 27.
My dear Natalia, the happiness of accompanying you on stage is incomparable, you radiate so much light, you are pure talent. Thank you for such a beautiful invitation, assured the well-known Diva of Buena Vista Social Club.
The also winner of the World Pioneer 2021 award, granted by the prestigious British magazine Songlines, will join voices with the author to perform songs from her most recent album De todas las flores composed of 12 songs and inspired by different life experiences.
It is "a piece that honors vulnerability, life and death, femininity, nature, the mystical, love and heartbreak," according to Lafourcade herself, about the phonogram that will have its official launch on October 28.
