Omara Portuondo Debuts Music Video Dedicated to La Habana

The music video White Sheets starring Omara Portuondo and directed by the multi-awarded filmmaker Joseph Ros, in tribute to the 500 years of Havana, premiered today.

Result of the alliance between Egrem and the Provincial Culture Board of the capital, White Sheets, the hugely popular musical theme created by Gerardo Alfonso was recorded by "The girlfriend of feeling" on her album Omara Siempre (Egrem, 2018), an album that deserved a Special Prize in last year's Cubadisco competition, in addition to a Latin Grammy nomination.

The innovative arrangement by Alain Pérez combines elements of rumba, son and timba and in its recording Osain del Monte and Rolando Luna participated, among other outstanding local musicians.

According to Joseph Ros, the filming of the audiovisual spanned from late 2018 to April of this year, and it was difficult to coordinate Omara's schedule and that of other artists who participated such as Gerardo Alfonso himself, Michel Mirabal and the comparsa Componedores de Batea.
