The performance, scheduled at the Auditori de Girona, will feature the quartet led by Fonseca, recognized among the most powerful exponents of contemporary jazz, who combines a great variety of styles and elements of Afro-Cuban music with soul, funk, blues and hip-hop.
This tour is my most personal way of thanking everyone for so many years of affection, Portuondo told Spanish media, who began her farewell from international stages with the tour El último beso, which started at the beginning of the year and includes several cities in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, among others.
The popular performer, about to turn 89 tomorrow Tuesday, will offer the best of her repertoire with emblematic songs such as Veinte años and La sitiera and will be accompanied by the musical talent of jazz musician Fonseca, who recently released his album Yesun.
Likewise, the renowned diva of Buena Vista Social Club will continue her journey during the 39 Festival de Jazz in the municipality of Cartagena, from November 1st to 23rd, whose convocation brings together relevant exponents of the genre.
Both musical representatives of the Caribbean nation are attending the 28 Festival Temporada Alta, a festival that brings together Catalan companies and playwrights and represents one of the main exhibition and production platforms for performing arts in the south of the European continent.
