CUBAN Liván Moinelo threw a complete game in the 4-0 victory of the SoftBank Falcons over the Seibu Lions, and was credited with his eighth win of the season in the 2025 Japanese Professional Baseball League.
Away at the Belluna Dome, in Tokorozawa, the swift left-handed pitcher from Pinar del Río, who registered his second complete game of the campaign, improved his record to 8-2 with an ERA of 1.27, a figure that reaffirms him as the absolute leader in that department in the Pacific League.
With this eighth victory, Moinelo tied for second place in his league with fellow left-hander Ryuhei Sotani, of the Orix Buffaloes, both surpassed by the 10 wins held by right-hander Hiromi Ito, of the Nippon Ham Fighters.
Furthermore, Liván struck out two batters in the game and gave up the same number of walks. With that pair of strikeouts he reached 117 as the leader in that department in the Central League.
So far, the left-handed pitcher from Vuelta Abajo has made 16 starts, and in 113.1 innings of action has allowed 74 hits, with five home runs and 26 walks.
