On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of Celina González's birth, the Cuban record label Bis Music presents the album "Sigue cantando Celina". The album also features production by musician Paulo FG.

Alongside the producer are three female voices, who are in charge of starring in this tribute to the Queen of Cuban Punto. Susy Noriega, vocalist of Paulo's own group, performs most of the songs together with Susel Gómez "La China" and María Victoria Rodríguez as guests. The album also includes the special participation of FG in one of the tracks.

In the words of the producer himself, this album "gives the public versions of selected songs from her repertoire, taking care of the original design of the same in their basic structures. On this occasion, a greater instrumental dimension is provided that is combined with other preferences and sound schemes, to magnify each song, without compromising its most genuine content, the natural flavor and the likeable expressiveness of its original lines", quotes a press release from the production company.

The album could not fail to include the recognized and popular songs: "Que viva Shangó" or "El punto cubano". Of the latter, musician David Blanco had already reinterpreted it in the form of a ballad, which enjoyed much popularity among younger audiences.

"The female voices that reinterpret Celina, from their most intimate and heartfelt style, confirm the relevance of a Cuban woman who lives in everyone. The simplicity of Susy Noriega is perceptible, who with her soft timbre brings freshness and subtlety while also emotion, while intertwining with the passion and strength of the always beloved María Victoria Rodríguez and the sensual yet powerful execution of La China", adds the note.

The recording saw the light on March 16 on digital platforms and on Sandunga para Cuba.

Although she is recognized for her mark in the interpretation of Cuban punto, Celina González also delved into guaracha and son, thanks to her working relationship with musicians such as Beny Moré and Ñico Saquito.

The discography of this unforgettable performer has several recognitions such as the EGREM Silver Record, and the Cubadisco award, as well as a Grammy nomination in 2001.
