Chucho Valdés Nominated for 2025 Grammy Award

From the Best Latin Jazz Album category emerges the strongest Cuban presence on the list of nominees for the 2025 Grammy Awards that was announced yesterday. The styles vary, as do the ages, but the quality is beyond question.

In this category are several virtuosos that Cuban music has contributed to the genre, and among them perhaps the most well-known are maestros Chucho Valdés and Gonzalo Rubalcaba.

Valdés is listed for the album Cuba And Beyond, which he recorded together with Royal Quartet, also composed of his compatriots Horacio "el negro" Hernández (drums), José A. Gola (bass) and Roberto Jr. Vizcaíno (percussion).
