Ailyn Febles Estrada Named Vice Minister of Communications of the Republic of Cuba

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Ailyn Febles Estrada, national president of the Union of Computer Scientists of Cuba (UIC), is promoted to Vice Minister of Communications of Cuba.

Doctor of Technical Sciences, Ailyn Febles Estrada is a Full Professor at UCI and visiting professor at several Cuban and foreign universities. 

She began working in 1997 at EMPROY#2 of MICONS as a Professional Technician in training in the computing department, completing her social service there. From 1997 to 1999 she was one of the secretaries of the Base Committee of EMPROY#2. She obtained Recognition in 1998 at the Science and Technology Forums at the Company and MICONS levels. She participated in the International Computer Convention 98 with the presentation of a work (SINOR: System of Norms and Regulations of Construction) and in 1999 at the CIMAF99 event with the work "FastEthernet, an advanced technology". She was selected as an Outstanding Technician of MICONS in 1998. 

In the year 2000 she served as a professor at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at the Center for Software Engineering Studies at the Polytechnic Institute "José Antonio Echeverría" (CUJAE). During her time at CUJAE she served as Vice – Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering (2003-2005) where she directed the process of Universalization of the Computer Engineering degree in Havana. In 2001 she defended her Master's degree in Applied Computer Science.

 In 2005 she began working at the University of Computer Sciences as director of Software Quality, University of Computer Sciences (2005 – 2007). She was appointed director of the National Center for Software Quality, CALISOFT since its creation (2007 –2012). In 2012 she was promoted to Vice Rector of Production, University of Computer Sciences until 2014 when due to university needs she was appointed Vice Rector of Research and Postgraduate Studies, until 2016. 

 In 2016 she was elected National President of the Union of Computer Scientists of Cuba at the constitutive assembly, a position she has held to the present.

Additionally, she has held other responsibilities, such as:
Member of the National Board for Scientific Degrees in Industrial Engineering.
Member of the National Board for Scientific Degrees in Automation and Computing.
Member of the boards for Teaching Category Instructor (2012-2013) Assistant (2014-2016).
Member of the Scientific Council of the University of Computer Sciences.
Member of the Scientific Degrees Commission of UCI.
External Member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of CUJAE.
Coordinator of the Master's Program in Software Quality. (Start - 2016).
Member of the national group of experts of the Council of Computerization and Cybersecurity. (2015-2017).
 Head of the National Program for the Development of the Software Industry of CITMA. (2013-2015).
 
Currently she is:
Directive Member of the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Committee of the Collaborative Tutored Doctoral Training Program in Computer Sciences at UCI.
Member of the Academic Committee of the Master's in Advanced Computer Science, UCI.
Member of the Cuban Society of Mathematics and Computing.
Member of the Union of Computer Scientists of Cuba.
Expert of the National Program for Computerization of CITMA.
Head of the MINCOM Sector Program for Computerization and Software Industry (2021).
 Head of the MINCOM sector program for Computerization and Industry. (2022).
Recognition received in her work, social and revolutionary trajectory.
National Vanguard of the National Union of Education and Science (SINTEC) in 2001.
