Jose "Pito" Abreu had a record-breaking day for the White Sox and for Cuba by surpassing 2 historic figures in the franchise and the country.

Abreu hit 3 HRs during the game between the White Sox in the victory against the Chicago Cubs.

With this, Abreu became the first player in the White Sox franchise history to hit 5 HRs in a span of 2 games.

In total, Abreu reached 10 home runs this season and the White Sox have hit 29 in the last 8 games.

When he arrived at the first game on Friday, Abreu was number 20 in home runs in the young circuit. By Sunday he was the leader in the American League in home runs (11) and RBIs (28).

But what is really impressive is his OPS of 2.726 in three games, something that hasn't happened since June 2018. Only six players have reached 3,000 OPS in three games.

That impressive performance made him worthy this Monday of the Player of the Week award in the American League, an award he has received five times.

It is clear that the weekend was spectacular for Abreu, but this Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday and every day he will continue working in silence, training quietly and without doing the slightest thing to draw attention.

It's no wonder his manager Rick Rentería calls him one of the most "undervalued" guys in Chicago.
