Young singer Camila Guevara Milanés celebrated and paid tribute to Omara Portuondo for her recently won Latin Grammy. The granddaughter of the also iconic Pablo Milanés, performed on her social networks a fragment of the classic "Veinte años".
"I'm here to leave a tribute to one of my teachers for her well-deserved Latin Grammy: the beloved Omara Portuondo. Thank you, for so much. Music owes you a lot. I discovered this song thanks to her. I hope you like it", wrote the also composer and daughter of singer and songwriter Suylen Milanés.
Guevara Milanés, with her short musical career, has gained many followers and supporters due to her voice and performance style. On her social networks she usually uploads several covers of musical classics like "Veinte años", which always provide a sample of her artistic talents. The young woman's video has already received several reproductions in just a few hours.
In the case of this tribute to Omara Portuondo, the diva of Buena Vista Social Club, won the award for Best Traditional Tropical Album at the Latin Grammy Awards with her album "Vida", produced by Guatemalan singer Gaby Moreno. Portuondo thus became the longest-lived winner of this award.
For her part, the young performer has been recognized for her talent as a performer since she began her professional career in 2019. Camila has been part of groups such as M.A.S and Flor de Loto. During 2022 she also performed at the Eyeife electronic music festival.
One of the first comments the young woman received on this cover video of the song by María Teresa Vera, was from her manager, Argentine producer and representative Margarita Bruzzone, who expressed that she "needed her music already", probably alluding to the first solo album that the young woman is preparing and that she announced would be released in 2023.
