Cuban actor Carlos Massola dies at 62 years old

Close friends, acquaintances and family members of well-known actor Carlos Massola, the quintessential villain on Cuban TV, confirmed on July 3rd the death in Havana of the artist, at 62 years old.

At 62 years old, Cuban actor Carlos Massola passed away in the Cuban capital, as confirmed by his mother to independent media. Friends on social networks have also bid farewell to the artist, paternal cousin of well-known Cuban presenter Edith Massola.

Fabio Corchado, a close personal friend of the actor, wrote on Facebook: "My brother Carlos Massola has just passed away. Yesterday he called me telling me how bad he was feeling and this morning his mother called me to tell me about his death".

"With deep sorrow we have received the news of the death of Cuban actor Carlos Massola. From Noticias de Cuba Hoy we send our most sincere condolences to his family and friends. Our eternal gratitude to Massola for his invaluable contribution to the arts," stated Noticias de Cuba Hoy.

As of the time of writing this sad note, the causes of his death have not been revealed. But according to those close to him, he had been feeling unwell for days.

In October 2023, Massola assured independent media that he was waiting for "a parole" to go live in the United States. Massola was caring for his ailing mother, alone in the Cuban capital.

In an interview with influencer Alex Otaola, Massola announced that he would soon leave the island heading to the United States through the humanitarian parole program, thanks to the sponsorship of his cousin Eduardo Massola, a resident of California.

The artist shared the news and also spoke about his current relationship with actress and presenter Edith Massola, with whom he has a family bond.
