Cuban model Karina Valero makes it to the top 9 of Miss Universo España 2019

Cuban model and DJ Karina Valero Tieles competed in the Miss Universe Spain 2019 beauty pageant held at the Kapital Theater in the city of Madrid last Wednesday, September 18th and has made it to the top 9 of the competition.

The young island native, 23 years old, also holds Spanish nationality. She prepared extensively for this important beauty event, which was the seventh edition presented by the renowned pageant.

There Karina Valero, who is 1.73 cm tall, demonstrated her talent, elegance and incomparable charisma. She is a girl passionate about fashion and music. Although she did not win the crown, she undoubtedly obtained an important position among the 18 candidates who participated.

The winner and successor of the competition was Natalie Ortega from Barcelona, she was crowned by Miss Universe Spain 2018, Ángela Ponce, who, by the way, was the first transgender woman to compete and receive the Miss Spain crown.

Spanish Ponce wrote on her Instagram account "It has been a path of discoveries, learning and evolution in which together we made history by bringing to the universe a message that broke social barriers," where she attached the last official photo session where she poses with the crown.

She thanked all those people who supported her at all times. Ponce was a fighter for human rights and for the "diversity" of the human being. She was dedicated to educating the world with respect to these topics. So the model, after her participation last year in this important pageant, was supported by many, but also criticized by others.
