Mirtha Ibarra will represent Cuban cinema in Ireland and Morocco

The renowned actress will offer a lecture at the University of Stirling on the life and work of Tomás Gutiérrez Alea

Several Cuban films such as Fátima, La muerte de un burócrata, Fresa y Chocolate and the documentary Titón, de La Habana a Guantanamera, among others, will be presented at an important film festival in Ireland, reported actress and filmmaker Mirtha Ibarra, who will be present at the event.

The author of the book Volver sobre mis pasos will offer this Thursday, November 14 at the University of Stirling a lecture titled: "Tomás Gutiérrez Alea: his cinema, his characters and some constants in his work".

After the 18th, the author of the theatrical piece Obsesión habanera will travel to Morocco to participate in another festival, from November 24 to 29, where some films such as Hasta cierto punto and Adorables mentiras will be screened.

For some years now Mirtha Ibarra has been working with all her resources on a film script and on one of her most cherished occupations: the promotion and dissemination of all the work of Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, her life companion for 23 years.
