Mayito Rivera takes his music around Europe

The renowned Cuban musician Mayito Rivera announces several performances in Europe on his social media. This Saturday, June 8, he will perform at the Afro-Pfingsten Festival, during Caribbean Night. Pedrito Calvo, former singer like Rivera of the orchestra "Los Van Van", will also be at that exclusive concert.

In addition to participating in the aforementioned event, which takes place in Switzerland from June 4-10 of this year, Rivera is planning to conduct a tour starting in April 2020. This will include live shows in Hungary and Germany. The program lists the following performances: April 24 in Budapest, May 3 in Bayreuth, May 6 in Bonn, May 7 in Weimar, and May 28 in Ingolstadt.

Among Mayito Rivera's new recordings in 2019, the CD "A romper el coco" stands out, recorded jointly with Alexander Abreu, director of the orchestra Havana D' Primera, and Alain Pérez. This phonogram pays tribute to Cuban musical ensembles, to the Musical Editions and Recordings Company (Egrem) for its 55th anniversary, to Siboney studios for their 40 years, to Miguel Matamoros for the 125th anniversary of his birth, and to Benny Moré in the year of his centennial.
