Cuban volleyball player Marlon Yant Herrera is competing for third place in the Russian Volleyball Superliga starting April 15, representing Zenit Saint Petersburg against Lokomotiv Novosibirsk.
The 24-year-old from Villa Clara, who stands 2.05 meters tall, saw his team eliminated from the title race after falling to Dynamo Moscow in the semifinals, dropping three of the four matches in that series. Despite the result, the outside hitter put in a notable individual performance: in the decisive semifinal game he contributed 50% efficiency in attack and scored direct points off his serve.
Throughout the Superliga season, Yant has shown the offensive consistency and power that define his game. The bronze match series carries extra significance because Zenit claimed the silver medal in the 2025 edition and will look to step onto the podium again before Yant returns to Cuba for the national team schedule.
Recognized as the top scorer of the 2025 Volleyball Nations League preliminary phase with 237 points, Marlon Yant continues to establish himself as one of the most complete outside hitters in world volleyball.
