That's how colorful she is. Restless like the butterflies on the cover, virtuoso in each of the ten songs written by Jessee Suárez to be performed by the diva of the Buena Vista Social Club: Omara Portuondo.

Mariposas, the album that the record label Bis Music presented this Friday, May 15, also includes the song "Un día feliz", by Silvio Rodríguez.

Regarding the release of her most recent album, Omara sent a message thanking singer-songwriter Jessee Suárez for inviting her to his project and album "Mariposas", which she considers innovative in terms of lyrics and sonorities.

Carlos Cartaya and Yusef Díaz accompany Jessee's work from music production. At the end of her message, Omara also expresses her gratitude to the Bis Music label for trusting her once again and allowing this wonderful production.

"I hope the public likes it, making this album have both National and Worldwide reach," are the expectations that this artist shares in her message, one of the emblematic voices of the Cuban musical landscape of all time.

Once again, we have the opportunity to enjoy Omara's versatility as a performer, "walking from ballad, bolero, son and salsa; and making nods to cumbia and vallenato, this album results in a subtle journey from the pop vision of its author, who seems to be someone for whom "musical genres don't matter and manages to move very comfortably among them without losing the essence of the message or the theme-rhythm relationship".

The information disclosed by Bis Music also brings us closer to the song that suggests the name of the album: Mariposas blancas, a song "a very Cuban song with native rhythms like son, montuno and salsa under an arrangement in which you can hear tumbao and brass that evoke dance with a message of optimistic love and a cheerful and enamored mood. Alluding to Cubanness from a perspective of peace and love in its lyrics, this song exudes expectation and confidence in the voice of none other than Omara of Cuba herself".
