Mailén Díaz celebrates her 21st birthday

The only survivor of the plane crash on May 18 of last year in Cuba, Mailén Díaz Almaguer, celebrated her 21st birthday on December 23. Her sister, who congratulated her through social media, shared some photos.

My dear and beloved sister, we love you with all our heart, I wish you have a beautiful and happy birthday, may all your dreams come true, may God fill you with much health and many blessings, may in this new year all your wishes come true, much peace and much harmony, I love you my Reyna, Happy day princess, her sister wrote on FB.

Throughout the entire recovery process, Mailén's sister has updated social media with each step of progress made by the young woman after the unfortunate incident.

Mailén is receiving rehabilitation treatment at the Center for Research and Neurological Restoration, CIREN, in Havana.
