Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba wins eight awards in Panama

During these days, the Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba company was performing in the Danza Activa Internacional competition, the most important of its kind held in Panama. In the competition they managed to accumulate eight Diamond Awards, the highest honor granted by the event.

A selection of dancers from the company spent months preparing for the competition, which took place at the Megapolis Convention Center, from August 30 to September 2.

"We work not to win in a competition, we work to win in life and we always compete against ourselves," Lizt Alfonso commented through Facebook.

New York Dance Project, Joffrey Ballet School, and the Julio Bocca Foundation were other artistic institutions that participated in Danza Activa Internacional.
