Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba combines talent with German artists

The company Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba (LADC) brings together today the talent and mastery of its members with a cast of German artists, to bring to life the show Berlin-Havana, dream of light.

The Amphitheater of the Historic Center of this capital will host the presentation, which will bring together on stage the Children's Ballet, Youth Ballet, School and musical group attached to the ensemble of the largest of the Antilles, reported the entity in a statement.

Result of the exchange with the Tanzzwiet school (Berlin), the project had the collaboration of the Embassy of Germany in Cuba, pointed out the leader of LADC, Lizt Alfonso, at the same time that she confessed to Prensa Latina the emotion of making this idea concrete.

"It is wonderful and the best part of all is that the Cuban public will be able to enjoy this show! We already want February 4th to arrive! So much excitement in all our hearts!", added the director of the prestigious group, which displays an impressive artistic record, multiple recognitions and great popularity within and beyond national borders.

The new proposal also includes the Berlin musical band Rumpelstil, directed by composer Jörn Brumme, creator of the legendary Concerts of Lights (Taschenlampenkonzert) that have captivated audiences in cities in Mexico, the United States and other nations.

Likewise, Cuban performers Geidy Chapman, La Reina y la Real, and Emilio Martini will join the event, under the joint direction of Alfonso, German professor Susanne Rinneert, German musician Brumme and the assistance of choreographer Diana Fernández.

On this occasion, Havana will have the opportunity to host such a wonderful event, focused on the whole family, notes the company's statement, which will exhibit works representative of its style and pieces born from the cooperation established since 2022 with the German ensembles.

Last September the Children's Ballet performed at the twenty-second edition of the Concert of Lights at the emblematic Waldbühne in Berlin, one of the most significant in Germany, together with the band Rumpestil for about 22 thousand people.

At 30 years since its founding, the ensemble has participated in important festivals and international events, the group has a varied repertoire of works that fuse contemporary ballet, flamenco, popular Cuban and Afro-Cuban dances, among other genres.
