Singer-songwriter Liuba María Hevia invites today to explore the musical staff of Cuban children's music with the concert My Imagined Girl, which will take place on July 2 at the Yara cinema, in Havana.

According to the performer, from the social network Facebook, the recital is part of a series of projects initiated during the pandemic, among which is the launch of an electronic book with a selection of songs signed by Ada Elba Pérez and Hevia herself.

The show will be an occasion for the notes of iconic pieces contained in the album Magical Journey, a phonogram edited seven times since its emergence more than a quarter century ago and which features about thirty songs.

Titles such as Mr. Rainbow, The Seller of Wonders, The Awakening, Cricket Crin, The Ugly, The Vain Moon and Estela, Cinnamon Grain, stand out on the album, which also evokes the work of important figures such as Teresita Fernández, Carlos Varela, Vicente Feliú, Amaury Pérez, among others, present in the trajectory of this album.

Following the presentation in the largest of the Antilles, Hevia will offer a children's concert at the Pequeño Teatro Gran Vía in Madrid, Spain on July 16 and 17 and from that same venue will dedicate to the adult audience the recital So Many Lives.

The initiative My Imagined Girl also integrates the production of a documentary series of the same name, which emerged in 2020 as a way to record all the social work carried out from the 1980s to the present in hospitals, communities and cultural projects inside and outside the country.

Recognized as a Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef, Hevia became an essential voice of children's music in her 35 years of artistic life, in which she presents a prolific body of work, with careful visuals by established and emerging filmmakers.
