Cuban singer-songwriter Liuba María Hevia sang today here to the children of the For a Smile project, at the José Luis Miranda pediatric hospital in this city in central Cuba.

The project was created 25 years ago in an effort to improve the mood of hospitalized patients, the development of aesthetic taste and values in children in the hospital.

"Music heals, awakens sensitivity, constitutes hope, joy and in this case it is my way of paying homage to the daily and limitless sacrifice of those who do everything for Health," the author of emblematic children's songs such as Mr. Rainbow and Beautiful Colors of Happiness, among others, told the press.

The performer interacted with the children, through songs such as The March of Letters, a didactic way of reviewing vowels, and The Little Train and the Ant, which allowed her to interact with the young attendees.

She also vocalized the Vaccine Song, authored by Argentine poet and composer María Elena Walsh, in a message that invites minimizing fears of injections in light of the well-being they cause in improving children's health.

Liuba María highlighted that for more than 30 years she has maintained an approach with Cuba's children's hospitals, as it is a way of identifying with sick children, to whom she transmits the medicine of sung art.
