Ciro Bianchi's Book with Little-Known Stories of Havana

The title Hemingway's Havana and Other Stories, by Cuban writer Ciro Bianchi, is the protagonist at Saturday of the Book, a regular space that takes place every weekend in Havana.


The volume from Editorial Abril brings together 30 chronicles that were published in the newspaper Juventud Rebelde: they are little-known, exotic and curious stories, according to its author at the launch held at the International Book Fair of Havana in February.


Stories of famous figures such as Ernest Hemingway and Yarini occupy the pages of the book, revealed the journalist and indicated that many times, the references to those events he could only find in the testimonies of people who lived them, but who often exaggerate.


I always try to have the name of Havana in the title of my works, stressed the writer at that opportunity.


According to the director of Editorial Abril, Miguel Cruz, Bianchi's most recent title reveals unknown details of various moments in Cuban history.


Havana is, precisely, the axis that unites those stories of relevant figures, such as athletes, artists, politicians and even mobsters.
