Cuban actress Beatriz Valdés, better known on the island as "La Bella del Alhambra," from the film of the same name that she starred in in 1989, will be the surprising star of Cuban singer Leoni Torres' upcoming music video.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I have the privilege, the honor, of having one of the greatest actresses in Cuba, Beatriz Valdés, in my new music video," Torres told his followers through an Instagram live stream. Valdés herself accompanied him in making the announcement.
The artist, based in Miami, like Torres, said that she was very grateful for this opportunity. Although no further details were given, it appears the clip could be directed by actor Carlos Enrique Almirante, who has been dedicating himself to producing Torres' videos, such as "Nunca te vayas" and "Como si nada."
In fact, Almirante was one of the first to comment on Leoni's post announcing that what was coming was "pure fire." Meanwhile, the singer's wife, fellow Cuban actress Yuliet Cruz, commented that Valdés was "La Bella, the great one."
The Cuban singer-songwriter recently relocated with his entire family to Miami, where he will develop his artistic career much further, following his nomination for a Latin Grammy in 2021 with the album "Alma Cubana."
He has also been promoting concerts for February 2022 alongside Pinar del Río native Willy Chirino. Both shared the stage months ago in Miami with the song "A mi padre." Leoni Torres was born in Camagüey on November 24, 1977, and is currently always accompanied by his beautiful family, which he has formed with actress Yuliet Cruz.
Meanwhile, Valdés built an acting career in Cuba and in Venezuelan telenovelas. She later settled in Miami. Beatriz won the hearts of many Cubans after starring in the unforgettable role of Rachel in the 1980s in the film "La bella del Alhambra." From that point on, she became almost immediately an icon of island beauty and sensuality. Valdés will always be "La bella" to Cubans.
