Cuban Grandmaster Leinier Domínguez will be part of the team with which the USA will participate in the World Chess Olympiad, which will take place from July 28 to August 10 next in India.
The American team has five members, all of whom have an average above 2700 ELO rating points.
Leading the squad will be International Master John Donaldson, who will be accompanied by these four chess greats.
Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana, currently fourth in the world ranking, brings prestige to the USA team with his 2783 ELO points.
Grandmaster Levon Aronian will also be a key piece, with 2775 points and fifth place internationally.
The Cuban is next on the list, number 12 in the world with his 2754 ELO points.
And finally, Grandmaster Sam Shankland, with an ELO of 2718.
This team has an average of 2763 ELO points and is expected to be one of the favorites for the top prize.
According to statistics, only India and China could be rivals on par with the American team, taking into account that Russia and Belarus will not attend the event due to the suspension of the International Federation.
