Cuba celebrated two victories and suffered one defeat on the final card of the Cologne 2022 World Boxing Cup in Germany.
According to the official sheet of the event, Lázaro Álvarez Estrada (63.5 kg) and Yoenli Hernández (75 kg) secured the gold medals, and Rafael Joubert Simón (60 kg) finished with silver.
Estrada, a multi-medalist at world and Olympic championships, defeated French boxer Lounes Hamraoui 5-0 on judges' scorecards; Yoenli did the same against Kazakh Pavlo Illiusha; and Joubert narrowly lost (2-3) to Kazakh Taigat Syrymbetov.
The Cuban team finished in second place in the men's event, surpassed only by the host team.
In the overall standings (both sexes), the Caribbean boxers finished fourth behind Germany, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan.
